Our Muktinath Tour Package by Drive is an overland travel option to reach the Muktinath temple in the Mustang of Nepal. The trip is scenic and beautiful as you can get a chance to explore the hilly region and mountain vistas in some parts of the way. Also, the entirely adventurous trip to Mustang indeed offers an experience worth exploring.

Muktinath temple is widely known for its pilgrimage importance. Many people visit Nepal to worship at the temple and also the trip covers some sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara valley. The cultural attractions of Kathmandu and the natural attractions of the Pokhara valley are the major attractions of the trip. It also enhances the opportunities to witness a wide range of mountain vistas including some eight thousanders during the drive.

If you are not in short of time and want to enjoy the journey as it would have been, the drive option is the best. However, the trip is adventurous as some part of the road is not well blacktopped. But the trip is entirely different and offers a wide range of experiences. You will be exploring numerous waterfalls, lakes and mountain valleys in the Pokhara to Jomsom road segment.

The Muktinath temple, also known as Muktikshetra, is believed to be a place where Lord Vishnu got liberation from the curse. So, many people visit this place to wash away the impurities and sins and believe that the place would liberate them and make a way towards salvation in life. There are water sprouts, small ponds and temple structures in Muktinath. People take bath in these holy sprouts and worship the Lord Vishnu. Also, there are numerous other things to explore in the Muktinath area.

DAY 1

Kathmandu Arrival.

Your Arrival Time (?) Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel.

At. 06:00 PM: We will give a short briefing about your tour program at the hotel. If you are arriving late (After 4 PM) then we will have a briefing next morning at 09:00 AM.

DAY 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing, Drive to Pokhara.

At. 08:00 AM: After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit first to the Pashupatinath Temple and then to Jal Narayan Temple before driving towards Pokhara. It will take about 6/7 hours to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu, once you reach there, check in at the hotel and rest for tomorrow's drive to Muktinath. 

Pashupatinath temple is the largest Hindu temple in Nepal which was built in the 5th century, situated on the bank of Bagmati river. There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) to explore. Pashupatinath reflects the dedication of other deities from the Hindu and Buddhist religions.

Jal Narayan Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu is also called Budhanilkantha. It is located 9 km north of the main city. The statue of sleeping Lord Vishnu seems like it is floating on the water.

DAY 3

Drive to Muktinath, Stay in Jomsom.

At. 07:00 AM: Today early in the morning you will start your drive to Muktinath, which is about 180 KM, and takes 7-8 hours. After completing your Darshan, Puja and Holy bath in Muktinath temple, drive back to Jomsom for overnight stay. 

Important Note: After getting off the jeep, you have to walk up for 30 minutes to reach the temple from Jeep park. You can hire a pony on your own which costs INR 600 for a two way ride.

Situated 35 Km northeast of Jomsom, Muktinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It lies at an altitude of 3750M and offers a mindblowing trans Himalayan beauty in the district of Jomsom. The temple of Muktinath is a pagoda-shaped temple surrounded by 108 water sprouts and 2 holy ponds. 

While religious beliefs are the major reason for pilgrims to visit Muktinath temple, it is also remarkably known for the diverse geographical spectrums and wonderful settlement from where you can see the astounding Himalayan views. Taking a bath in the icy-cold holy pond at Muktinath is believed to wipe off all the sins and liberate. A glimpse of Muktinath is believed to bring good fortune to life and salvation of the soul to get rid of the cycle of birth and rebirth. 

DAY 4

Drive to Pokhara, Pokhara Sightseeing.

At. 07:30 AM: Today after having breakfast at your hotel, start driving down towards Pokhara, upon reaching check in at the hotel and take rest for the day after a long offroad drive. 

At. 03:00 PM: Visit for Pokhara Sightseeing, which covers Bindhyabasini temple, Devi’s Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and Barahi Temple in the middle of Fewa lake. 

DAY 5

Drive to Kathmandu.

At. 08:00 AM: After your breakfast proceed with your drive towards Kathmandu. On the way, you can visit Manakamana temple by cable car. It takes approx. 3 hours to complete the sightseeing of the temple.

Note: The Manakamana temple cable car ticket cost (INR 550 Per Person) isn’t included in our given price. 

DAY 6

Transfer to Airport.

Optional Activity: Everest Mountain Flight at 06:30 AM from Kathmandu airport to Kathmandu airport, a 50 minutes flight which takes you for an aerial view of Mt. Everest and several other mountains. (INR 10,500 Per Person)

You will be free until your flight time. We will drop you at Kathmandu airport 3 hours before on time for your onward flight back home. Additionally, you can choose to go sightseeing which depends on your departure time and cost. (30 minutes of drive)
