Trip Overview

Kathmandu tour package deals with a short holiday trip to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The city is known as a city of temples, culture and heritage. Seven out of ten UNESCO listed world heritage sites belong in Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur are the three major cities of Kathmandu valley. Besides that, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Namobuddha, Kirtipur, Shivapuri National Park, Chandragiri and Panauti are the major tourist places close to the Kathmandu valley.

Cultural heritage is one of the key attractions of Kathmandu valley. One can explore ancient temples, Durbar squares, Stupas and cross-culture between Buddhism and Hinduism in Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, people celebrate several Hindu and Buddhist festivals. One can manage their visit during the festive time. Shivaratri, Holi, Indra Jatra, Tihar, Bisket Jatra and Gai Jatra are the noticeable festivals. Day hiking around the hills and jungles of Kathmandu valley would be some fun for trek lovers.

Our tours are majorly based on a customized basis. The traveler can customize all the tour itinerary as per their desired places to visit, flight arrival/departure time and budget. Furthermore, they can even extend their duration of stay as well. Also, they can choose their preferred hotel category to stay.In addition, we have included 6 UNESCO listed sites. 

The first day will be your arrival day, you can add any sightseeing places as per the arrival time. On the second day, you will visit the Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After your second day sightseeing you will visit Nagarkot for your overnight stay. Nagarkot is a popular nearby hill station from Kathmandu from where you can witness beautiful sunset and sunrise along with magnificent Himalayas. And on the third day, you will visit Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Fourth and the last day will be your departure day. As per the flight departure time, you can add any sightseeing places to visit.

DAY 1

Kathmandu Arrival.

Your Arrival Time (?) Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu airport and transfer you to your hotel.

At. 06:00 PM: We will give a short briefing about your tour program. If you are arriving late (after 4 PM) then we will have a briefing next morning at 09:00 AM. If any payment is due, then it will be collected during the briefing time.

DAY 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing, Drive to Nagarkot.

At. 09:00 AM: After your breakfast at the hotel, you will check out (as you will return to the same hotel for next day’s stay, you can keep your unrequited baggage to the hotel reception) and visit for a full day sightseeing of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath.

At. 03:30 PM: Once your sightseeing completes you will drive towards Nagarkot, which is about 30 KM far and takes one and half hours to drive.

At. 05:30 PM: View the sunset from the hotel in Nagarkot.

Pashupatinath temple is the largest and holiest shrine for Hindus. This temple, situated on the bank of the Bagmati River was built in the 5th century There are around 492 temples, 15 Shivalayas (shrines of Lord Shiva) and 12 Jyotirlinga (phallic shrines) to explore. No entrance fee is charged for SAARC nationals to enter the temple. Although only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed on the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river.

Swayambhunath is one of the most glorious, holiest and oldest Stupa in the world. It is located on a small hillock in west Kathmandu hence commanding an excellent view of the valley. The stupa was built in 460 A.D. by King Manadeva, and is also known by the name "Monkey Temple”.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the three Durbar Squares of Kathmandu Valley. The Malla king Pratap Malla erected the statue of Hanuman (the Hindu god of power) in this place and it was named Hanuman Dhoka.  Taleju Temple, Tribhuvan Museum, the house of Kumari (Living Goddess), Kasthamandap, the temple of Kal Bhairav along with few other temples are some places to explore.

Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It is the central hub of Buddhism in Nepal which is surrounded by hundreds of monasteries. Lichchavi rulers renovated the staple during the 8th century, which was made in the shape of a Mandala.

DAY 3

Bhaktapur and Patan Sightseeing.

At. 05:30 AM: Early morning view of the sunrise from your hotel. 

At. 10:00 AM: After breakfast, visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. Once your sightseeing completes you will get some free time to do shopping around the Thamel area in the evening. 

Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is also known as Bhadgaon has 4 major squares: Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square and Pottery Square. Some of the major attractions are Lu Dhoka (The Golden Gate)” which is said to be the most beautiful and richly molded specimen of its kind in the entire world, The Palace of 55 windows and Dattatraye Temple along with some other small temples.

Patan Durbar Square is 5 km southeast of Kathmandu. Major temples are Krishna Temple, Taleju Temple and Bhimsen Temple. Some places to explore there are Patan Museum, Mahaboudha, Kumbeshwor, Keshave Naryan, Vishwanath & Chyasin Dewal and Sundari Chowk. Banglamukhi is one of the famous temples of Devi ( Goddess ) in Kathmandu. The temple of Baglamukhi is situated in Patan (Lalitpur). There are various other small temples inside the Baglamukhi temple premises. People visit this temple mainly on Thursdays as it is considered the day of Bhagwati.

DAY 4

Transfer to Airport.

Optional Activity: Everest Mountain Flight at 06:30 AM from Kathmandu airport to Kathmandu airport, a 50 minutes flight which takes you for the aerial view of the Mt. Everest and several other mountains. (INR 10,500 Per Person)

You can add any sightseeing on an additional basis or enjoy your free time. We will transfer you to the Kathmandu airport 3 hours before your flight time. (30 mins drive)
