Pashupatinath, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal, is the most important Hindu pilgrimage site in the world. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, hosts two important rituals like Rudra Abhishek and evening Aarti every day to show their devotion.

The Rudrabhishek is a special Hindu ritual performed from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Pashupatinath everyday. The ritual involves bathing the Shiva Linga, the symbol of Shiva, with a mixture of milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, and sugar. It is a way for devotees to show their devotion to Lord Shiva.

The Evening Aarti is a ceremony performed at 6 pm every evening on the holy bank of the Bagmati river at Pashupatinath temple. A group of priests perform the aarti by waving lamps towards the temple from the bank across the Bagmati River while chanting mantras. You will be able to observe these two rituals in Pashupatinath Temple during your sightseeing tour to Pashupatinath.
